Manama An 11-year-old Saudi boy fatally shot his two-year-old sister and seriously injured his four-year-old brother in a freak accident.
According to a family member, the tragedy happened when a dog entered the tent where the family was staying, prompting the boy to take out a rifle and shoot the stray animal to protect his siblings.
However, the bullets missed and hit the sister killing her instantly and the brother who sustained grave injuries, local Arabic daily Al Sharq reported on Wednesday.
Ali Al Asmari, the police chief of the city of Torbah in Western Saudi Arabia, said that an investigation into the tragedy has been launched.
