Dubai:  His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his accompanying delegation attended the GCC Summit in Riyadh on Monday.

"It is our utmost pleasure to be here in Saudi Arabia, among family and as guests of King [Abdullah Bin] Abdul Aziz, who is chairing the 32nd GCC Summit meeting," said Shaikh Mohammad in a statement to the media.

"We hope that this summit will lead to positive decisions and results that will serve our countries and peoples," he added.

"We are confident that we will achieve our national aspirations — thanks to King Abdul Aziz's wisdom, and his keenness to ensure the success of the summit, consolidate the GCC's march, and activating resolutions issued in the previous Summit meetings. "This will of course become possible with the assistance and agreement of all GCC leaders, who are keen to enhance all forms of coordination and integration between our countries...

"I am also happy to convey to the GCC leaders the greetings of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his wishes to the GCC leaders for success in the decision-taking process and fruitful steps towards strengthening the GCC's foundations so the Gulf can reach its full potential, remain proud of its accomplishments and strong with its financial and human resources...," he said.

Shaikh Mohammad also met privately with Bahraini King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa and Qatari Emir Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
