Riyadh: The Saudi Shura Council has approved a draft law to grant Saudi citizenship to foreign women who are either married to Saudis or are their widows.
Dr Saleh Bin Abdullah Al Malek, secretary-general of the Shura Council, said the council entrusted the Minister of Interior to implement the decision.
He said the council heard a report, presented by Dr Bakar Khushaim, the head of the security affairs committee at the council, that contains opinions of the council members and asked the Minister of Interior to take steps for granting citizenship to such women.
