Damascus: Lebanon will not be high on the agenda during an unusual visit of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia to Damascus, which is likely on Thursday.

The Beirut daily As Safir said that King Abdullah's proposed Syria visit will last for two and not three days as thought earlier.

Speculations on the Syria-Saudi agenda have also begun surfacing in the Syrian media.

Top on the agenda will be bilateral relations - political, economic, and security related joint efforts at counter-terrorism operations against Al Qaida.

Also high on the agenda will be the relationship with Iraq, and how both countries can find common denominators to deal with Iraqi challenges like security, especially after the Americans leave in 2012.

Inter-Arab relations will also be discussed about resolving disputes within the Arab world, a reference that will apply to both Hamas-Fatah relations and Syrian-Iraq relations, which plummeted in last August.

King Abdullah is expected to visit only Damascus, which has raised eyebrows in the coastal city of Latakia and the northern city of Aleppo, where preparations for a seemingly "important guest" had begun in recent days.

Less than one month ago, Venezuelan President Hugo Chaves visited the Syrian city of Suwaida, raising hopes that more state visitors would visit places other than Damascus, as has been customary.
