Manama: The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has appointed Shaikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani as Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Foundation.

She will continue in her current role as Vice-Chairperson, the foundation said in a statement announcing the appointment

Through her appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Shaikha Hind will lead an executive team, responsible for enhancing and implementing strategy and budget, driving performance, and strengthening the relationships with QF’s various partners and stakeholders.

“Due to our rapid growth and success, we are now at a key juncture in our history,” Shaikha Moza Bint Nasser, the Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, said as she stressed the important role that QF will play in the future.

“In order to build QF’s continued success and impact into the future, we must now ensure that we are ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow. With this in mind, the board of directors has agreed to a new governance structure for the foundation.”

The Executive Team will be effective from April 3 and will comprise Faisal Mohammad Al Suwaidi, President of Qatar Foundation Research and Development, Dr Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Buthaina Al Nuaimi, President of Pre-University Education, Fahad Sa’ad Al Qah’tani, President of Community Development; Shaikh Salman Bin Hassan Al Thani, Chief Financial Officer; Mayan Zebeib, Chief Communications Officer; Mohammad Abdul Aziz Al Naimi, Chief Operations Officer, Michael Mitchell, General Counsel; Jasem Telefat, Executive Director Capital Projects; and Omran Hamad Al Kuwari, Executive Director CEO Office.

Sa’ad Ebrahim Al Muhannadi, who has served as Qatar Foundation’s President since 2013, has been appointed as a Lifetime Member of the Board of Directors, in addition to his current role as Member of the Board of Trustees.

As a founding member of QF in 1995, he has led the development of Qatar Foundation’s infrastructure in line with Qatar’s goal of transforming itself from a carbon-based to a knowledge-based economy.
