Manama: Around 33,000 Qataris will on Tuesday elect the 29 members of the Central Municipal Council (CMC) amid expectations that the four women candidates could win seats.

According to the election committee, 101 candidates have signed up in the quadrennial elections and 32,662 voters are registered to cast their ballots on Tuesday.

Polling will be between 8am and 5pm, but with a half an hour break between 12 and 12.30 for prayer and lunch.

Voters cast their ballots in their constituency and should produce their registration card and their personal ID card, the committee said. If the voter cannot select a candidate, he or she will be assisted by the election committee head.
