Doha: Qatar and Iran are expected to sign agreements in oil and gas industry, tourism, investments and other important fields to boost their economies, Al Rayah newspaper said.
During his visit to Tehran on Tuesday, Qatar's Crown Prince Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani will also discuss bilateral relations and is expected to meet Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenejad and other officials.
Iran's ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Sahrabi told a press conference on Sunday that the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Hamad Bin Ali Al Attiyah and the Iranian defence minister will sign a military agreement. The agreement will focus on the mechanism of cooperation between armed forces of the two countries, exchange of experts and maritime cooperation, the Arabic daily said.
Sahrabi said Qatar, Iran and Bahrain had reached an initial agreement on the maritime boundary issue. However, they will later set a date on when to sign the agreement.
"The agreement will include a map of the borders of Qatar, Bahrain and Iran," he said.
Sahrabi also added that the two countries are likely to sign a security agreement during a planned visit of the Iranian Interior Minister Mustafa Mohammad Al Najjar to Doha.
Commenting on the US policies, Sahrabi explained that the US has no power to lead or go through another war in the region, because it will reach nowhere and Iran will make sure to teach it a lesson it won't forget for decades.
