Museum of Islamic Art opens in Qatar

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday attended the opening ceremony of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.
Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, inaugurated the museum in the presence of a number of heads of states and representatives from GCC, Arab, Muslim and foreign countries.
The museum is one of the most important and monumental building projects of its type in the world due to the exceptional quality of its architectural design.
Earlier, Shaikh Khalifa arrived in Doha on a visit to Qatar at the invitation of Shaikh Hamad to participate in the opening of the museum.
Shaikh Khalifa is accompanied by a high-profile delegation, including Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.
