Dubai: A group of Arab youth has launched an online campaign to curb Qatar’s “malicious role” in the region.

The campaign is also collecting signatures for boycotting Qatar, reported Arabic newspapers.

It has also called for setting up a popular Arab force for thwarting the acts of the Qatari Emir and the ruling family that support terrorist organisations.

The campaign’s goal is to stand up to terrorism, preserve Arab unity, as well as supporting anything that serves the unity of Arabs, with all due respects for Qataris and ensuring that their rights are preserved, according to the reports.

The campaign said that it aims to spread awareness among citizens of Arab nations, and thwart the “malicious acts and role played by Qatar” to destroy Arab unity and divide the Arab world into smaller states.

Its goals include curbing the influence of Qatar and its interference in the internal affairs of Arab nations like Syria, Libya, Egypt and Yemen and to stop Iran’s regional expansion.

It seeks to combat extremism and bolster values of tolerance, dialogue, acceptance of others and moderation between people in the Arab world. The campaign’s goal is also to thwart all attempts to breach and tear the Arab nations apart.

It will uncover the truth behind the role of the Qatari ruling family to destroy the Arab world and also inform Qataris about the ruling family’s crimes in order to protect their rights.

Another goal of the campaign is to ensure that Qatar remains among the ranks of Arab states.

Seminars and discussions will be organised to expose Qatari Emir Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and the ruling family, and visual content will also be generated on “crimes of the Qatari ruling family”. The campaign will cooperate with cultural bodies and civil society organisations and institutions to serve the interests of the Arab youth and raise their awareness.
