Muscat: Bread not fit for human consumption has been seized by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP). The bread was sold by expatriates in Salalah province in the southern part of Oman.

The accused rented an old house in Salalah and used the roof of the house as a bakery and then sold it to different shops in Salalah.

The accused were found to be making the bread in unhygienic conditions and used dirty water, rusted tools and expired ingredients.

Ali Al Basrawi, the head of the PACP in Dhofar said that they found reptiles and rodents on the roof.

Earlier in August, expatriates were arrested for selling expired meat in Salalah.
