Muscat: The police in Musanah town has accused two men from an Asian country of murdering a septuagenarian man.
The 72-year-old Omani was killed with a blow to his head with a blunt object in farm-house in the early hours, according to a Royal Oman police press release Monday.
The police said they formed a team to track the killers and after thorough investigations narrowed down to the two accused, who are brothers.
One of the accused was employed at the farm by the elderly man and is accused of keeping track of the citizen's movement.
"One of the accused sneaked into the old man's room in early hours after another accused monitored the situation from inside," the police spokesman said, adding that the victim was hit hard with a blunt object on the head and died on the spot.
No motive is known so far for the murder.
The police said they were informed about the dead body on the farm by an unknown caller. The two suspects have been handed to the prosecution department for further investigations.
