Muscat: The Royal Oman Police's (ROP) Drug Control Department has continued their crackdown on drug suppliers as well as users in the country with the arrest of six people trying to smuggle and trade in narcotics and psycho-tropical substances, according to a press release on Saturday.

Information sent to the drug control team helped in the arrest of two Asians while they were attempting to unload 20kg of hashish and 2kg of heroin last week in Khasab.

Two men were arrested in the Bausher district of Muscat with morphine and hashish in their possession.

In a similar operation, the drug control team arrested two Asians from Birka in northern Oman with heroin in their possession.
