Muscat: A septuagenarian Omani citizen from Ibri town got richer by one million Omani riyals when his name was drawn at the Bank Muscat’s Al Mazyona savings scheme draw held at the Sohar Beachfront on Friday evening.

“I am delighted to win this big prize from Bank Muscat. This is an incredible scheme reflecting the dreams and ambitions of people. I always dreamt of winning a prize and it has totally changed not only my life but also the future of my family,” excited winner Nasser Ali Rabiyah Al Hinai said about his jackpot win.

Al Hinai, a retired employee with a family of seven children, has been banking with Bank Muscat for several years and he benefited from the ‘loyalty bonus’ and his chances got multiplied, thereby giving him an advantage to win the one million riyals grand prize.

Al Hinai is familiar with Bank Muscat products and services and personally recommends Bank Muscat to friends and relatives because of the many value-added services provided by the bank. “I am very happy with the banking facilities and the helpful and courteous approach by the staff.” Asked what he intended to do with the prize money,” Al Hinai said he planned to help his family and reinvest the money in the bank.

Close on the heels of announcing the 2013 Al Mazyona savings scheme offering a prize basket of 7 million riyals, Bank Muscat marked the culmination of 2012 Al Mazyona savings scheme to pick the winner of Oman’s biggest one million riyals jackpot prize.

“We congratulate Al Hinai for winning the Al Mazyona jackpot prize,” Said Al Badai, DGM – Branches, said.

“He represents the experienced generation aware of the responsibilities to maintain prudent savings habits. Customers banking with Bank Muscat in all parts of the country are rewarded with attractive prizes and personalised services,” he added.

The one million riyals grand prize was earmarked for customers who consistently maintained a healthy savings of at least 1,000 riyals every month. An added attraction was that the winning chances got multiplied by the number of years customers were associated with Al Mazyona savings scheme. For example, a customer who has been saving for five years multiplied his winning chances by five times, while another customer who has been saving for 20 years was able to multiply his winning chances by 20 times and so on.
