Muscat: The Royal Opera House launched a series of musical concerts with a pre-launch season concert at Oman Ballroom in Al Bustan Palace Hotel on Monday.
At the ceremony, Prague Orchestra staged four musical events. The programme began with Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, followed by Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, the Pretty Millozoline story by Mendelssohn and Czech music on Du ladder by Divor Jack.
The Royal Opera House has prepared a number of events for the pre-launch season that will run until December 21.
A concert will be held on September 23 by the Antonio Najarro Dance Company. Nasir Shamman and Al Sharq Orchestra will also stage ‘Silk’ – a musical performance on September 27. And ‘A Tribute to Um Kulthum’ will take place on September 30 by Egyptian Diva Amal Maher. She will be accompanied by Saleem Sahab Arab Music Ensemble.
Other concerts are scheduled for October 4, 7, 13, 14 and 18.
Renowned lute and violin performer Simon Shaheen and his Qantarah troupe will also perform on October 25.
And a number of performances are lined up for November, including Al Kindi Troupe on November 1. The troupe will stage ‘Sufism Love Path’, a meeting between the circle dancing dervish of Istanbul and the Al Qadri Sufi of Syria.
Antonio Najarro will stage ‘Eastern Flamingo’ on November 8. Other musical events are scheduled for November 25, 26, 29 and 30.
The Royal Opera House’s pre-launch concerts will conclude with the Warsaw Room Opera on December 21.
