On Monday evening, Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Sultan of Oman returned to the country after an eight-month long medical treatment in Germany. Following his arrival in Oman, Arabic hashtags that translated to, ‘Be Happy! Qaboos has arrived’ and ‘UAE celebrates the return of Qaboos’, were trending in UAE on Tuesday. Many social media users took to Twitter and other channels to post messages welcoming him and congratulating the country on his return. Tweep @AlMaskary wrote: “Congratulations to the people of Oman on the return of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to Oman”. Another user, @amal_alamri24 tweeted: “God bless the Omani people with happiness upon the return of Qaboos to Oman and the Gulf.”
Omanis rejoiced at his return and dedicated prayers for his health. Twitter user @MMAlardhi wrote: “May Allah bless His Majesty Sultan Qaboos with many years of health and peace. Our love, dedication & prayers are always with him.” @Dralnoaimi tweeted: “Thank God for the safety of Sultan Qaboos…”
Many Omani Twitter users shared how they were celebrating the occasion. Tweep @SalalahPortCEO cut a cake at his workplace to celebrate the Ruler’s return. He shared a picture of the cake and tweeted: “Salalah#Port celebrates the return & the successful treatment of His Majesty of Oman Sultan Qaboos. Welcome back home!”
