Muscat: Britain’s Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have started a three-day royal tour to Oman.

Prince Charles landed in Muscat on Friday and was greeted by the Minister of Heritage and Culture, Sayyed Haitham Bin Tariq Al Said.

On the first day of tour, Prince Charles brandished a sword and took part in a traditional dance in the capital Muscat.

He also took a tour of the Oman National Museum on Saturday, where he visited various galleries and watched a live classical music performance by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra.

Camilla, meanwhile, paid a visit to Oman’s Cancer Association and met with children and their parents.

The couple also attended a service at Bait Al Noor Church afterward to mark the 125th anniversary of the final visit of Bishop Thomas Valpy French, who established the Anglican Church in the capital in 1895.

Prince Charles last visited Oman in March 2013. His tour will also take him to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
