Police arrest 94 infiltrators
Authorities in Oman also deport 89 illegal residents
“All the 94 have been arrested for entering the country illegally,” a spokesman for the ROP said.
The spokesman said that the police also deported 89 illegal residents last week. “All the legal paperwork, including verification by respective embassies, was done before the illegal residents were deported back to their home country,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Monday the police carried out another raid on hideouts of illegal residents in the Seeb district of Muscat, arresting 105 expatriate workers. “About 76 were held for violating the residency law while 29 for entering the country illegally.
“These illegal residents work for quick gains and pose a security threat to the country,” he said, adding that those who give illegal residents shelter will also be prosecuted,” said the spokesman.
