Peddler held at Muscat airport with 119 capsules
Asian expats arrested on charges of possession of narcotics
“Working on a tip-off, the police at the airport stopped an expatriate from an Asian country after his suspicious behaviour,” a spokesman for the ROP said.
He added that closer inspection revealed that the accused had hidden 80 capsules of heroin under his shoe sole and another 39 capsules in his cloths.
The accused was arrested and handed over to the Public Prosecution for further action.
The officer from the Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested another Asian national from Seeb for possession of a large amount of heroin.
The police have appealed to citizens as well as expatriate residents to inform ROP about the use or promotion of drugs or any other psychotropic substances by contacting the emergency telephone (9999) or the hotline (1444).
