- Rescue workers try to extricate the body of a truck driver who was killed in a crash in Oman's Dhofar region on Monday.
Muscat: A truck driver was killed on the spot when he rammed his vehicle behind another truck on Monday in the Dhofar region south of Oman, according to a Royal Oman Police (ROP) press release.
The police had to cut open vehicles to extricate the body of the truck driver, since due to the impact of the crash, both the trucks were tangled with each other.
Two people died in Nakhal when a flock of camels appeared from nowhere on the road at night, forcing the driver to swerve his car to avoid running into camels. He lost control and his vehicle turned turtle, killing two occupants and injuring four others.
Meanwhile, 20 people were killed and 140 injuries in 123 road accidents last week.
The ROP have urges motorists to slow down and be cautious on seeing stray animals on the road, not to apply brakes forcibly and turn suddenly as the car could skid off road.
