Muscat: An Omani national who sustained minor injuries during a deadly bomb blast last week in Bangkok arrived home on Wednesday night.

Fahad Al Harthi, an Oman Air pilot, recovered from injuries sustained in the back, neck and right ear.

He was receiving medical treatment at Pai hospital in Bangkok for eight days, according to media reports.

“I am very happy to come back home and see my loved ones,” Al Harthi said.

The pilot was exiting a shopping centre heading to his hotel nearby the targeted Hindu shrine, when the blast took place.

Al Harthi fell on the ground from the impact of the blast but three Kuwaitis saw him and took him to the hospital.

Al Harthi said that a cement barrier from the subway saved him from possible death, but shrapnel left a hole in his right year.

27 people were killed and 78 people wounded in the blast. Most of the victims were Chinese and Taiwanese.
