Muscat: An Omani woman stabbed a 23-year-old man to death after he allegedly threatened to circulate her photos on social media.

The incident happened on Sunday in the Shahehet area of Barka province, 69 kilometres away from the capital Muscat.

An official of the Royal Oman Police (ROP), told Gulf News the suspect coaxed the victim into her family home, where she murdered him.

The slain Omani man had allegedly threatened to circulate personal photographs of the woman on social media.

“The suspect stabbed him several times in his stomach and chest with a knife,” said the official.

The victim died on the spot due to severe bleeding.

The official didn’t confirm whether the victim had blackmailed the woman for money or something else.
