Muscat: The Royal Oman police have arrested an Omani on the charges of robbery and attempt to murder, according to a press release on Friday. “The accused has confessed to his crime and we have recovered stolen property from his possession,” a spokesman for the police said.

He added that the accused had stolen a laptop, wrist watch and some cash from an Arab couple’s flat in Al Khuwair area when no one was at home past midnight. “He returned the next day through an open window but found the couple sleeping in the room,” the police spokesman said, adding that the accused attacked the couple with a sharp tool and ran away.
“The couple was seriously injured in the attack,” he said, adding that the police tracked down the accused, who confessed to his crime and police recovered the stolen booty from him.
