Muscat: As the summer sets in, the Ministry of Manpower has intensified inspection to catch those who violate work rule, according to Salim Bin Saeed Al Badi, Director General of Labour Welfare at the Ministry.

In a statement released to media, Al Badi said that the regulations on occupational safety and health measures, bans employment of workers at construction sites or open spaces from 12:30pm to 3:30pm in the months of June, July and August every year as temperature is very high at that time.

He stressed that the Ministry would spare no efforts to follow up and initiate legal actions against those violating the rule. “We will carry out intensive inspection campaigns on work sites to ensure that they (companies) comply with the provisions to stop work during specified hours in summer,” the senior Ministry official said.
