Muscat: Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed on Monday received Dr Ahmad Mohammad Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif at Bait Al Barakah palace.
The two discussed cooperation and exchanges between Oman and Al Azhar in religious areas.
Al Tayeb, who is currently visiting the Sultanate, also met Shaikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel on Monday.
The two discussed matters of common concern and reviewed fields of cooperation between the ministry and Al Azhar.
Shaikh Ahmad Bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Sultanate’s Grand Mufti, also met Al Tayeb at Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
