Mysterious animal strikes livestock in Al Taf village
The villagers have found bodies of goats with bite marks on them
Muscat: A village 228-km west of Muscat is currently living under the fear of an unknown animal, which has been attacking the livestock of villagers, according to a report published in local Arabic daily Al Watan on Wednesday.
The dwellers of the mountainous village of Al Taf have complained about a mysterious attack on the livestock in the dead of night for past the few days.
According to the report, villagers are living in fear of more attacks by the mysterious unknown animal. The villagers have found bodies of goats with bite marks on them. The report adds that last Monday the animal killed about 20 and left few with severe bite marks.
The villagers have informed the authorities about the incidents and a team from the agricultural development department has already paid a visit to the village to evaluate the situation.
A veterinarian has taken some samples for analysis and has advised the people dealing in livestock to get vaccinated to protect themselves from rabies.
