Four killed and six injured in Oman accidents
A citizen and three expatriates among those dead
In a horrific accident at the BankMuscat roundabout at the Airport Heights in Seeb a sedan was sandwiched between two heavy vehicles while waiting for its turn to cross the roundabout. The driver of the car was killed on the spot while three other occupants sustained moderate injuries.
“Brakes of a heavy vehicle failed and it rammed into waiting traffic at the roundabout near airport heights in Seeb,” Yaqoub Bin Saad Al Jahori of Azaiba Police Station, said.
The resultant impact sandwiched the saloon car between two heavy vehicles, killing its driver and badly damaging the vehicle. Three other vehicles were also damaged in the accident that also triggered massive tailgate on three sides of the roundabout.
In a head-on collision between two vehicle in Bidiya three expatriate occupants of one vehicle died and three others sustained moderate to serious injuries.
The ROP have urged motorists to check their vehicle periodically to avoid brake failures or other malfunction that could cause accidents.
