Muscat: A fire that broke out at a petrol station in Ghubra on Tuesday injured two people. The blaze gutted a bus and parts of Al Maha petrol station.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire in one hour.
Speaking to Gulf News, a worker at the petrol station said the reason for the fire was that the bus driver did not turn off his engine while filling up petrol.
An official at the Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance (PACDA) confirmed the reason for the blaze was high temperatures that caused the spark which ignited the fuel.
Many people slowed down their vehicles on the road to watch the fire, causing traffic jams.
Last month, two petrol stations caught fire in the Bidbid and Yanqul provinces.
