Muscat: An Omani citizen and four persons of Asian origin have been held by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on charges of trading in narcotics, according to an ROP press release on Saturday .

The Drug Control Department at the Directorate-General of Criminal Investigations carried out raids across the country following a tip off and that led to the arrest of four men on charges of trading in drugs.

A dealer was arrested in Muscat with morphine capsules and narcotic substances in his possession.

Meanwhile, the Drug Control Department in the Dakhiliyah region arrested three men on charges of drug trafficking. They were found in possession of 73 capsules of heroin.

Three Asians were apprehended for smuggling, trafficking and possession of narcotic drugs when they were caught with 73 capsules of heroin.
