Muscat: Officers of the Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested an Asian national at Muscat International Airport while trying to smuggle heroin capsules, according to a Royal Oman police press release on Wednesday.

Accused arrested with 181 capsules filled with heroin
“The officers received a tip off about an attempt to smuggle heroin by a passenger coming from an Asian country,” a spokesman for police said.
“A strict vigil was kept and on suspicion the accused was thoroughly checked and the officers found 181 capsules on the accused,” he revealed, adding that each capsule was filled with heroin.
Police have urged all residents to ensure more cooperation to counter the scourge of drug and notify policemen of any acts that may be committed by drugs and psychotropic substances dealers by calling 9999 or 1444.
