Customs Department of Royal Oman Police foils alcohol-smuggling bid
Muscat An alcohol smuggling bid was foiled at the Sohar Industrial Port by the Customs Department of Royal Oman Police (ROP), according to a press release Sunday.
"The invoice stated sanitary items in the container but closer look revealed behind the rows of sanitary items boxes of alcohol were stuffed," a spokesman for the ROP said.
A total of 1,480 cartons containing 17,760 bottles of Indian-make aclohol were seized and the accused have been handed over to the Public Prosecution, he added.
