Muscat: Several companies in Oman are being investigated for providing fake bank certificates. The companies are said to be using the Invest Easy Portal, which allows local and foreign investors to obtain registration certificates online.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry says that some companies are exploiting the services that the ministry provides for commercial registration through the gateway, which is designed to speed up procedures.
The ministry vowed to verify all documents to make sure they check out and is asking all companies to provide accurate and reliable information to avoid legal action.
The Invest Easy business portal launched last year was ranked number one global enterprise portal this month by Omani authorities.
