35 infiltrators caught by ROP
Human Traffickers try to take advantage of Oman's long coast line to smuggle illegal immigrants from Asian countries, especially from Pakistan and Afghanistan
Muscat: The Coast Guard of Royal Oman Police (ROP) have foiled an attempt by 35 Asian to enter the country illegally.
The coast guard chased and caught 18 infiltrators from the coast of Shinas town along the Batinah region's long coastline. The other 17 were caught from Sohar with the help of citizens after entering the country illegally through its coast.
Human Traffickers try to take advantage of Oman's long coast line to smuggle illegal immigrants from Asian countries, especially from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Poor and gullible people pay large amount of money to these human traffickers to be taken to Oman via Iranian waters.
