Manama: Abdullah Al Barooni, a young Kuwaiti actor, died on Tuesday morning reportedly from a heart attack.

The 44-year-old actor had built a reputation in Kuwait and in Gulf countries for his outstanding acting and the roles he played in several dramas.

Friends said Abdullah was faring well and did not suffer from any illnesses or physical indisposition, as they expressed shock over news of his death.

Al Barooni who started his acting career on stage in 1991 and in television dramas in 1997 was working on a new drama scheduled to be screened in Ramadan, which will start in mid-May.

Several fans took to social media and Twitter to offer their condolences and sympathies to his family.

“I have known Abdullah Al Barooni for 17 years and he was an outstanding example in piety, compassion and friendship,” Nasser Al Mujaibal posted on his account. “May God grant his wife, daughters and family fortitude to bear this terrible loss.”

Other Kuwaiti actors, producers and television figures recalled Abdullah’s positive character and said he will be sorely missed.

“Abdullah will always be remembered for his laudable work and for his morals. Our condolences to his family and fans,” Ghada Al Ali, a Kuwaiti media figure, posted.
