Manama: Kuwaiti authorities have urged nationals studying in Egypt to ensure they are back in their academic establishments when they re-open on February 19.
"We have been informed that the resumption of studies in all Egyptian schools, universities and institutes will be on February 19," Awadh Al Enizi, Kuwait's cultural attaché in Cairo, said.
"We urge all Kuwaiti students not to be late and to go back to school as soon as possible. All exams that could not be completed as a result of the unrest that began on January 25, will be re-taken at the beginning of this academic semester," he told Kuwait News Agency (Kuna).
The Kuwaiti cultural office has already contacted all Egyptian universities and schools on the exam re-sit, he said.
Education was suspended in Egypt following the protests that eventually forced the former president to step down. A military council is now in charge of running the country and re-opening schools would be a strong "back to normal" indication in the most populous country in the Arab world.
However, academic courses could be suspended again in case new developments hindered the regular education process, officials have said.
