- The world's longest flag is being unfurled during a rehearsal in Kuwait.
The 2,000 metre-long flag will be displayed for the public during the military parade to be held under the patronage of the Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah in the Subiya area in Kuwait City, Shaikha Amthal Al Ahmad Al Sabah, president of the Volunteer Work Centre, said after attending a rehearsal of the unfurling ceremony.
Shaikha Amthal said that the flag was supposed to be officially unfurled on the island of Qarwa during the National Day and Liberation Day celebrations.
However, after the unfurling rehearsal, it was decided that the official ceremony would be held during the military parade, Kuwaiti daily Al Watan reported on Sunday.
The Farwaniya Educational Zone and the students of Fatima Bin Quais Primary School received rich tribute from Shaikha Amthal for their efforts in making the longest flag in the world.
