Manama: Kuwait's information ministry on Monday evening said it was taking legal action against a local daily and a television station for taking up issues that could damage Kuwait's relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

"Acting Information Minister Radhwan Abdul Aziz Al Radhwan has asked the ministry to take prompt action against Al Dar daily and Al Adala station and transfer the issue to the public prosecution," the ministry said in a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

"The minister held a meeting with the editor-in-chief of the daily who expressed his commitment to abide by the ministry's instructions and pledged that there would be no repeat of the issue," the statement said.
