Kuwait's Shaikh Sabah praised for saving maid's life
The Philippine government has praised the Emir of Kuwait, for saving the life of a Filipina maid who was charged with killing her seven-year old ward last year, the department of foreign affairs said.
Manila: The Philippine government has praised the Emir of Kuwait, for saving the life of a Filipina maid who was charged with killing her seven-year old ward last year, the department of foreign affairs said.
On July 8, Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah signed an Amiri decree which commuted the death sentence of overseas Filipino worker May Vecina, 28, to a life imprisonment in Kuwait, the foreign affairs department said in a statement.
The department also lauded Arroyo for her efforts to protect the welfare of some two million overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East.
