Manama: Security forces in Kuwait have denied reports that a girl student had died after a clash with three other girls.

The news disseminated via BlackBerry and other electronic media outlets claimed that the girl studying at the Institute of Commercial Studies died in a fight in which knives and other sharp weapons were used, Kuwaiti daily Arab Times reported on Wednesday.

According to sources, the fight broke out between a group of four students and two of them sustained various degrees of injuries. However, the dean of the institute refused to allow securitymen to enter the premises after the Operations Room had been notified of the incident.

He is said to have allowed paramedics to carry the injured students to Mubarak Hospital for treatment. The injured students were allegedly discharged later.

Sources disclosed a committee has been formed to look into the case and taking disciplinary action against the girls who took part in the fight.
