Manama: Kuwait's prime minister said that he was looking forward to government departments "rising to national development challenges by cooperating with the Supreme Council for Planning and Development."

Government agencies should cooperate legally and financially with the council in implementing development projects and programmes within the framework of sustainable development, Shaikh Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah said.

"We sense, today, satisfaction with the accomplishments that resulted from your generous contributions, unique expertise and sagacious opinions and ideas," Shaikh Nasser said, quoted by Kuwait News Agency (Kuna). "We move forward together to implement the adopted ventures of the [development] plan through the tendering of four companies, out of seven, in the sectors of health, storage, power and housing," he said during the meeting of the key strategy-formulating council.

Shaikh Nasser hailed the joint establishment by the public and private sectors of several companies and praised cooperation between the council and the cabinet.

"This example of advanced institutional action constitutes the promising gateway toward a bright realistic future that could bring back to our country its distinguished historic status and secure, for the next generation, an independent, stable and prosperous country where development schemes would serve the citizens, individuals and groups," he said, quoted by the official news agency.
