Manama: The Third Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Russia was held at Bayan Palace in Kuwait on Wednesday, Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) said.

The GCC delegation was headed by Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah and the Russian side by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The meeting explored means of boosting bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the GCC countries and Russia, in addition to regional and international issues of joint interest, the official news agency said.

Russia’s relations with some GCC states have been affected by the deadly conflict in Syria.

The meeting was attended by GCC Secretary-General Abdul Lateef Al Zayani.
