Manama: A lovelorn man was arrested in Kuwait for blasting loud music from his car that he drove around the building where his beloved lived.
Neighbours in the posh Salmiya area in downtown Kuwait City called police to complain about the music emanating from a car next to their homes.
Upon approaching the man, police discovered he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him as he resisted their efforts, Kuwaiti daily Al Rai reported on Wednesday, citing security sources.
During the questioning, he attributed the loud music from his car to his “strong wish to make his beloved listen to a song that reflected his feelings towards her”.
A thorough search of his car led the police to discover two bottles of wine. Police then took the man to the station to face charges of being drunk in public and disturbing peace.
Under Kuwaiti laws, drink driving and drinking in public warrant legal action.
