Manama: A British legal consultant committed suicide in Kuwait after she left a note indicating she was distressed.

The 48-year-old expatriate, who was not named, was found hanging in her home in the residential area of Salwa two days after her death, Kuwaiti daily Al Rai reported on Wednesday.

The Interior Ministry’s operations room received a call from her colleagues saying that she did not report to work for two days and did not answer her phone.

The colleagues in the lawyer’s office added they had noticed that she seemed depressed lately.

Security men headed to the woman’s home but nobody answered. The watchman said that he had not seen her in days.

The police obtained a warrant from the public prosecution and broke the door.

They found the consultant’s body hanging from the ceiling of one of the rooms. Forensics said that she had been dead for two days.

Investigators found a note reportedly addressed to her husband in which she said her life had been destroyed and asked him to look after her children, the daily said.

The investigators are now working at unmasking the mystery surrouding the woman’s suicide and are seeking details from her acquaintances, the daily said.
