Manama: Security authorities in Kuwait have arrested two men as they were trying to exchange fake euros.

The police were alerted about the two Pakistanis after a money exchange employee discovered after they left that they had handed him 5,000 euros in fake notes.

A security team was dispatched to Al Mubarkiya area in downtown Kuwait City where they were given a description of their looks, a security source said.

The commercial area was combed and the two men were found at another money exchange office where they were trying to exchange another 5,000 euros.

The police arrested them and seized the fake money and the amount they received from their first exchange, local daily Al Rai reported on Tuesday.

The two men were identified by the first exchange employee and the public prosecutor was informed about the case.

The source said that they would face the charge of possessing and exchanging counterfeit money.
