Manama: A Turkish girl has been forced to attend her high school under police escort after a man tried to kidnap her three times.

The 16-year-old girl, identified as E.A., dropped out of the school and did not leave her home for two years after 25-year-old Abdullah Minaz threatened her repeatedly for ignoring his romantic advances.

“I’ll cut your legs, you will not be able to walk” and “I’ll throw nitric acid on your face,” he reportedly told her, forcing her to drop out of school.

The police was alerted about the lurking danger after the unemployed Minaz tried to kidnap a third time when she was in a park with her grandmother, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

E.A. was able to resume school recently after her story was reported by the media, and social service specialists, psychologists and educational experts visited her.

“I’m very happy. All of my dreams have come true,” said E.A, who will be protected by a civil police team until Minaz leaves the neighborhood. She said she wanted to become a teacher.

The mother, Khadija, said she was pleased with the protection for her daughter and with her daughter's new chance to graduate from high school.
