The police were alerted after people spotted the 1.5-metre long crocodile near a house in Shakhoora and its team eventually noosed it, Al Watan daily reported.
Nobody was sure where the stray reptile came from, but one theory is that it escaped from a nearby farm.
Bahrain last year pledged a zero-tolerance policy towards a roaring trade in wild animals smuggled into the country.
Snakes, monkeys, crocodiles and tigers have been seized by the authorities in their campaign.
According to the authorities, some farms have become virtual zoos after they acquired many exotic beasts.
