Manama: Contacts in Bahrain between government parties and political societies are likely to result in a breakthrough that will allow holding a national dialogue for reconciliation, a local daily reported.

Citing sources it did not identify, Al Ayam on Wednesday said that the announcement of the dialogue would be made within days following accords over most of the issues to be discussed at the dialogue.

"Most of the parties have presented the issues and themes they wish to see included in the dialogue," the sources said. "The talks in their initial phase will be by the second rank of the society leaders."

Calls for healing the wounds that have scarred Bahrain, mainly alongside sectarian faults, have recently become more intense and better focused, despite opposition from radicals from various sides who insist on their pre-conditions before any steps are taken towards compromises.
