Minister 'used as scapegoat for political reasons'
Bahrain's Social Development Minister Dr Fatima Al Belushi has said that she was made into a scapegoat by candidates in the parliamentary polls.
Manama: Bahrain's Social Development Minister Dr Fatima Al Belushi has said that she was made into a scapegoat by candidates in the parliamentary polls.
"I was the only senior government official to be used as a scapegoat for political reasons by candidates running in the elections," Al Belushi said yesterday in a statement.
Last month, Al Belushi was accused of expressing public support to the Islamic Menbar Society candidates by attending a social function they helped organise to celebrate mid-Ramadan.
