Manama: King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa has stressed the significance of the close relations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Egypt.

An official Bahrain statement said that King Hamad voiced full support for Egypt’s stability.

“Egypt’s stability means the stability of all since Egypt has been the strategic depth of the Arab nation throughout history and so it will remain,” King Hamad said, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Bahrain, as the current chair of the GCC, fully supports this status with all available means in line with the wishes of the people and the unity of destiny, he said.

At the meeting between King Hamad and Egyptian President Adly Mansour, the two countries agreed to reinforce economic, commercial, cultural, information and military cooperation through the reinvigoration of the joint commissions and discussed the possibility of bringing up all issues before the upcoming GCC summit in Kuwait, BNA said.

The two sides also reviewed drawing up an integrated Arab security strategy through military and security committees and agreed on bolstering their coordination and consultations.

King Hamad stressed the significance of the efforts by Egyptians to preserve their national agreements and thus enable Egypt to maintain its leadership role in serving the Arab and Islamic nation and supporting joint Arab work.
