Manama: A Bahraini court on Monday sentenced seven men to prison terms between one and three years on charges of staging illegal public rallies, acts of sabotage, possession of illegal publications and public incitement of hatred of the political regime.

The National Safety Court of first Instance, Second District, ruled that Majed Ali Mohammad and Ebrahim Salman Abdullah be sentenced to one year, Mohammad Mulla Ahmad, Hassan Mansour Hussain and Haytham Shebr Sharaf to two years and Hussain Ali Ahmad and Jaafar Mohammad Ebrahim to three years.

Under the state of national safety, the verdict of the lower court can be challenged at a court of appeals.
