Prince Khalifa talking about the situation in Bahrain - BNA

Manama: Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the government was determined to uproot terrorism and instigators and to ensure the security and stability of the country.

The measures taken recently have strengthened unity among citizens who are keen on the kingdom’s higher interests, the prime minister said as he stressed that “firm and decisive anti-terror efforts” would continue.

There is no turning back or leniency towards terrorism, a phenomenon that has no religion or sect and poses the same threats to all countries, Prince Khalifa said as he received senior state officials, as well as economic, academic, intellectual, cultural, press and media personalities.

“All countries show no leniency when they are faced with terrorism, and take all necessary measures to confront it,” he said.

“Bahrain is no exception, and, like other countries, it has every right to defend its citizens and ensure their security and safety.”

Prince Khalifa said Bahrain was still being targeted, but he added that the country “has gained enough experience, maturity and awareness to be able to thwart them.”

“The plots and schemes against the countries and peoples of the region are continuing, and there are agents at the service of foreign entities operating under different covers, and we have to be cautious and to continue adopting the measures that would ensure our countries and people security and safety,” he said. “Anyone who conspires against the nation should be deterred,” he said, quoted by Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on Sunday.

The Prime Minister said the developments in the region and beyond would strengthen the determination to move ahead with the development process.

“We are on the right track, and we will remain strong and determined to achieve the interests of Bahrain and its citizens,” he said, stressing a zero-tolerance policy towards “whoever attempts to subvert security and stability or disrupt the development process.”
